Atelier Editions
This collection was inspired by Portuguese cobblestone. Being a Lisbon native, I grew up among the streets of Lisbon — running, jumping from stone to stone, from color to color. Our cobblestones, made of irregular shapes and the colors Black and White, accompanied many of my games... and my falls. There were countless times I slipped, and so many others when I got back up. From those memories, marks, stories, and an inspiration remain that still accompany me as a designer.
These pieces are a tribute to those memories: to the texture, rhythm, and imperfect beauty of Portuguese cobblestones.
Lupi
A direct journey to childhood. "Iupi" evokes rainy days in Lisbon, when the sloped and slippery streets turned the pavement into an adventure field. It's a playful and affectionate piece, bringing with it the charm of memories of those who grew up playing on these stones.
Roca
With elegant and refined lines, this piece reflects the more delicate and harmonious side of Portuguese cobblestones. "Roca" translates the subtle beauty found in the repetition of its patterns and the balance between form and movement.
Fraga
A solid and imposing piece, with a striking presence. It represents the weight and grandeur of Portuguese cobblestones— a heritage that the Portuguese took around the world, just like the great explorers. "Fraga" symbolizes the strength of our roots, tradition, and the raw material that identifies us.
1 2 3
Composed of three hexagonal tables of different heights, "1 2 3" interprets the irregularities and volumes of Portuguese cobblestones. Each shape reflects the dynamic design of the stones that pave cities and squares around the world, reminding us of the art and geometry hidden beneath our feet.
